About Questar
Questar is a Swan 44, built in 1975 by Nautor's Swan of Finland and designed by the famous New York partnership of Sparkman and Stephens, whose yachts have won all the major sailing accolades, including the America's Cup, the Sydney-Hobart and the Fastnet.
Nautor's Swans have a distinguished history on the racing circuit. They are renowned as superb sea boats especially when the going gets tough. These boats were one of the few designs to not only survive the notorious 1979 Fastnet Race; they carried on racing!

The History of Questar
Questar has spent her entire life the USA and has been brought back to Europe by a team of marine professionals based in Plymouth.
She has had two previous owners, both long-standing members of the famous San Diego Yacht Club.
Questar has a distinguished racing history, with evidence of her successes remaining on board to this day.
She has just undergone a £40,000 refit in order to bring her up to modern charter standards. This included new sails, new navigation instruments and radar, awl-gripped rig, new decks, new stern gear and engine.
Questar still remains a thoroughbred working yacht for serious sailors.
Today, Questar carries a modern IRC racing handicap which compared with modern racing yachts gives her a particularly competitive edge. She might not always be first over the line but when the silverware is being given away, watch out!
